Bestard SAR Pro Water Rescue Boots.
Part 1: Unboxing and Preview.
Since I got back into lure fishing, I have been wearing a pair of Vass 700 thigh waders; they have done the job, but a couple of times I have been near to getting out of my depth. I wanted to get a pair of chest waders, but the thing is, I would rarely get into a depth that I would need them. So I searched for any breathable waist waders and found some Kinetic X5 waist waders that would suit my needs.
As these waders come with built-in neoprene socks, I was going to need some wading boots, but which ones? There is a huge variety of them out there, from lower-priced ones to expensive ones. There was also the option to buy some cheaper work boots and use them, which I was tempted to go for, add some boot studs, and use them. Or should I go for more expensive wading boots, which I was more reluctant to do, as most are freshwater and being used in the sea with the salt and sand, I was not so keen to do this route.
Having my own Facebook group and being in other groups has it’s benefits, I made a post in my group and another group and see what others are using, some were using work boots, while some had proper wading boots, but the majority response that came back, was a boot called the Bestard Sar Pro water rescue boots. Lots of you recommended them, saying they were the best boots they had bought, properly looked after some were being worn for 3-4 seasons. I also read Henry Gilbey’s review of them. I also messaged a couple of Guys and asked them, they both replied Best boots to get.
I decided to contact R3 SAR Gear, who sell these boots, for some more information, I also said i have my own website and would like to review them for the website. They happily agreed and i ordered a pair of the boots.

A couple of days later, my boots arrived. Being a size 9, I went a couple of sizes bigger, I got size 11. Along with the boots, you get a info booklet and some spare boot liners.

The boots are made of cutting-edge materials that provide durability and maximum resistance to wear and tear from abrasion and water contact.

The grip on these boots is a non-marking Vibram. The Idrogrip outsole provides excellent grip on wet and slippery surfaces. I am going to add some Supatracks boot studs to this for added grip.

The Boot Design, along with its lightness and lacing system, allows for lots of adjustment to give you high support, comfort, and freedom of movement. It also has reflective strips and an efficient water drainage system inside the boot. They also have an inbuilt gaiter to help prevent rocks and debris from entering the boot. This image shows the boot over the wader sock. They feel very comfortable on the feet to walk in.

With the Kinetic X5 waist waders down and the lace grip attached, everything looks neat, and I’m ready to test them out in some fishing places.
As this is part 1, after I have been wearing them for a while, I will do part 2 of the review. You can check out these boots at R3 Sar Gear Here, or the Bestard website Here.
