About Me.
Hi, I am Steve, I grew up lure fishing for trout, in Cornwall, Although I did a bit of lure fishing for Bass, it kind of got left in the past, until this year when I really wanted to get back into it.
I started Back in May 2024, and thinking I would soon be catching Bass, Boy was I wrong, I didn’t catch anything till July and I caught my first decent Bass, and a PB of 56 cm, finally I had caught a decent fish. Two Months later i bettered that with another PB a 60 cm Bass close to were i caught my previous one.
I am only starting my journey into lure fishing for Bass, i have learned lots in only a few months but i love the buzz of fishing for these amazing fish and the sport they bring to us.

As a rookie, I joined several Bass groups, I wanted to learn as much as I could from others to help my journey, but I soon realised that there was no dedicated Bass lure group for Cornwall.
So I made one, and the Start of Kernow Bass was created, It is for all lure fishermen in Cornwall and I have invited Devon too as several do come to Cornwall a lot to fish.
The group is for everyone from people just starting out to Pro Bass fishermen, I made the group to help each other and to share things so others can share in the joy of catching Bass.
The Website.
But I wanted to have more so I made the Kernow Bass website to run alongside the Facebook group.
Somewhere I could build up lots of information to help people get into Bass fishing, Basic information on how to start and what tackle you would need, Rods, Reels, lures, and equipment.
But also have links to information, other groups, websites, businesses, shops, etc.
A place where somebody can come and find help.
The website has a strong foundation and will get bigger as more things get added to it in 2025
